Cape Town, South Africa – The Groove Room is stepping out on its own.
On 26 December 2026, The Groove Room lands in Cape Town for the first time, bringing together music, dance, community, fashion and world-class production for a new standalone experience celebrating African electronic music culture.
Born from the energy of Ultra South Africa and built by the crowd that has shaped it over the years, The Groove Room has evolved from a festival stage into a world of its own. At its heart is the sound of the continent: Amapiano, Gqom, Afro House, Afro Tech and 3-Step, brought together by the artists and audiences pushing African electronic music forward.
Over the years, The Groove Room has welcomed some of South Africa’s most influential names, including Oscar Mbo, Dlala Thukzin, DBN Gogo, Scorpion Kings, Liquideep, DJ Lag, Que DJ and more. Now, that energy moves beyond the festival and into its next chapter.
The Groove Room is about more than who is behind the decks. It is about the dancers, the chanters, the fashion, the community and those moments when an entire crowd moves as one. This is one for everyone who knows that a good groove doesn’t stop, it goes on.
Ahead of the Cape Town debut, The Groove Room will continue to bring its world online through live set releases, YouTube content, playlists, community stories and moments from the dancefloor, giving audiences a taste of the room before they step inside it.
With headliners and the full lineup still to be announced, 26 December marks the beginning of a new chapter for The Groove Room.
